The Cat S42 is a rugged entry-level smartphone. The major selling point of the device is the fact that it comes with U.S military grade certifications and IP68 certified for water, dust and shock resistance. It comes in a 5.5-inch HD+ display with 720 x 1440 pixels resolution with standard 18:9 aspect ratio.
On the inside, there is a quad-core MediaTek MT6761D Helio A20 CPU clocked at 1.8 GHz each, coupled with PowerVR GE8320 GPU, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, which is further expandable up to 128GB via SD card.
On the camera department, you are getting a single 13 MP main sensors featuring PDAF and a single-LED flash. On the front, their is a single 5-megapixel selfie camera with support for faceID. The device run on Google Android 10 out of the box, with a promised future Android 11 update.
