While there are high speced rugged smartphones, there are entry-level rugged phones as well, and the Blackview BV5500 Plus is one of them. The device mounts a 5.5-inch display with 720 x 1440 pixels resolution, resulting in to a 293 PPI (pixels per inch).
Specification wise, the Blackview BV5500 Plus is powered by the MediaTek MT6739V Chipset. This is a Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU. Along with the CPU, there’s a PowerVR GE8100 GPU, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storageĀ which can be further expanded to 64GB via SD card.
As for the built quality, the Blackview BV5500 Plus is built from a tire like rubber. It is a water/dust resistance device, thanks to the presence of IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810G certification.
There are two camera sensors at the back; an 8 + 0.3 MP dual rear sensors, along with a single LED flash. In the front, there’s a single 5 megapixel front-facing camera for selfie, FaceID and other AI features.
