While other iterations of the M-series from Gionee have focused on battery performance, the new M40 Pro focus more on larger storage than battery power. On the inside, the M40 Pro borrows specifications from the Gionee K3 Pro launched earlier. This includes a 6.53-inch HD+ display, with 720 x 1520 pixels. It also comes with a dewdrop notch upfront, housing the selfie camera.
The M40 Pro is base on MediaTek’s MT6771 Chipset, aka; Helio P60 CPU clocked at 2.0 GHz, along with ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. Storage options includes 6/8GB RAM and 128/256GB internal storage, further expandable up to 256GB vis SD-card.
Coming to the camera department, you are getting two rear cameras sensors on the M40 Pro; there is a primary 16-megapixel sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfie, Gionee made use of a single 13-megapixel selfie sensor, kept in the notch upfront.
Powering the device is a 4000mAh battery that charges via USB Type-C interface. It also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual Nano-SIM slot with support for 4G LTE network, while Google Android 9 boot out of the box. Other specifications of Gionee M40 Pro are detailed in the table below.
