Xiaomi’s Redmi K40 is the direct successor to the Redmi K30 of last year. Although the new comer comes with series of upgrades starting from design, display, OS and even core device features, but the most notable upgrade is the use of the latest Snapdragon 870 CPU from Qualcomm. Display wise, the K40 comes in a 6.67-inches screen with a central tiny-notch. The display is FHD+, and it has 120Hz refresh with up to 1,300 nit peak brightness.
On the inside, there is the aforementioned Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 CPU, a 7nm octa-core 5G Chipset clocked at 3.2GHz, along with Adreno 650 GPU, up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage.
As for the camera specs, there is a triple rear snapper on the K40, and these includes a 48-megapixel main lens with PDAF and 1/2″ sensor size, a secondary 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor with up to 119˚ FoV and a third 5-megapixel Telemacro lens along with a single LED flash. For selfie, there is a 20-megapixel snapper hidden in the tiny hole upfront.
The device is available in Black, White and Aurora colors. It come with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, support dual Nano-SIMs with 4G/5G SA/NSA support, fueled by a 4520mAh battery with 33W fast charger and run the latest Google Android 11 with MIUI 12 out of the box.
